Nantucket-Beach Decor Changes coming….

Nantucket-Beach Style Decor

Typically in the spring and summer I start to slowly change out accessories, pillows, etc… from cottage traditional style to a more relaxed breezy Nantucket /beach style décor.

Beach décor has many styles within itself. There is a stark white on white look in some beach houses with a contemporary feel.

There is also a beach look that displays lots of collections of shells, driftwoods, etc.. and usually is a mix of neutrals and whites.

The style of Beach décor that I love is Nantucket style décor.

Living in Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the islands are frequent destinations of our family and I marvel at the exterior of the shingle sided capes and rambling rose bushes growing in sandy soil.

We live in a oversized Cape Cod Style home that has been in my husbands family for many many years.

When we were just starting out as husband and wife and were looking to buy a home- my top pick was a contemporary home with sunken living room and lots of large windows. Sleek kitchens and baths. However, thankfully, we got the opportunity to purchase my husbands family home.

At first I was not too thrilled, but the price was right and it meant a lot to my hubby! We thankfully had the budget to do a lot of remodeling- it was definitely stuck in the 60’s. It was a fine line making the changes without insulting my in laws. But it all worked out.

Anyway, I digressed! HAHA

So, I haven’t done my Nantucket-Beach décor in about 2 years. I was trying different looks but I miss that look and am going to do the changes in the next couple days so stayed tuned.

Thanks for stopping by!
