Stonewall Kitchen Visit…Fun, Fun, Fun

Did you ever have one of those days where you impulsively decide to do something that you usually wouldn’t do without planning? Well, today, as I was in my Pilates class I thought rather than going home right after-(same old, same old), I decided to take a trip to one of my favorite places for poking -(ie, Poking Places)- we all have one or two. Well, one of those places is Stonewall Kitchen in Maine.
The outdoor decor is absolutely amazing and beautiful, not to mention creative vignettes.
My photo doesn’t do this justice. It is a row of several galvanized buckets with gourds and pumpkins. But the most amazing thing was the hanging watering can that had faux water coming out that was really just the string of silver beads that you find on old bathtub stoppers, not sure what the real name of those is. But, so creative!!!
Here’s my fave pastel and white pumpkins!
Once the morning glories are done climbing on this you can switch to a pumpkin pyramid!!
Wish they were selling these giant white pumpkins !
These awesome cast iron roosters.
I’m sure many of you get the catalogs and if your like me, you kinda drool over the yummy foods, speciality jams, snacks and dressings.
I think some people come in here and make a meal out of all the goodies around the store. This is just one of the several tasting stations. I love the No Double Dipping signs on the table.
But, let me tell you, the store doesn’t only have the yummy stuff but great home accessories that you wouldn’t find at HomeGoods. There things are unique and well made and just make me smile.:-))
They have fabulous gift baskets already made for you!
Doesn’t this just make you want to never leave?
Unique blue and white display. Love the blue and white cow creamer.
I try to get to this place at least once a year but I don’t always make it. I don’t know why, its only 40 minutes from my home but always feels like it a big deal to get there. It is a great place to visit near Christmas- to die decor- great place to get ideas for your own decor.
This is the only Christmas display currently, notice the candy canes to the right. The boxes are different jams and jellies.
Certainly gets everyone in the Christmas spirit.
They also have an unbelievable cafe.
When I first started visiting this store, it was a very small coffee house feel, now there is double the space as well as sandwiches, fries, salads, etc.., as well as outdoor patio area. I would have loved to have lunch there but I didn’t want to eat alone- you know how that is…poor woman all alone :-(( Next time I am going to make sure to eat there no matter what- I should keep a book in the car for moments like this-something very intellectual, like War and Peace- hahaha!
These are awesome sail cloth bags with octopus, anchors and other sea fearing creatures.
I’m sorry that my cell phone doesnt take the best pics, but the dishtowels were beautiful-(check out my post tomorrow of my purchases to see better photos) I purchased a couple and will be in my next post of my purchases. But, there were autumn themed ones.
cute cast iron squirrel
Best candles ever!!
This is a stag themed display. The antlers are actually bottle openers.
How great are these…stag flasks for your orange juice. :-))
Moose dish towels.
These are salt/pepper shakers.
My faves… whales! These are carved from wood and come with name tags!
These are all kitchen gadgets.
This is a French themed display with blue and white dinnerware.
Anywhoooo- I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had quite a spree. It so happens that right down the street is an outlet mall and a few antique and craft shops. This post will be about the actual store and what they have to offer. My post after that will be what I purchased on my fun impulsive get-a-way. Let’s put it this way, I had 3 bags leaving the store. :-))
